Anderson arrive at the premiere of Sony Pictures Releasing's 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' at the Regal L.A. Live Theatres on January 23, 2017 in Los Angeles, California.

According to review, the new "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" could be the best instalment in the franchise. However, other fans believe that the franchise badly needs a reboot and immediately.

The first "Resident Evil" movie in 2002 somehow had the horror theme into it, but the following instalments seem to be more of action packed post-apocalyptic sci-fi movies. However, according to reviews the latest instalment in this zombie movie series has elements that could make it the best in the franchise, as if director Paul W.S. Anderson has been saving the best for last, The Wrap reported.

"Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" brings Alice, played by Milla Jovovich, back to the Hive, where the first movie in 2002 was set. The story adds to the action and the movie has a purposeful ending. Also, the set pieces are incredible and the aesthetics look like the "Mad Max" reboot.

Speaking of reboot, other fans however, feel like the franchise needs a reboot really bad. Now that Anderson's game adaptation movie franchise has come to an end, it is about time for a fresh new start and bring it back to its horror roots, CinemaBlend reported. The "Resident Evil" game, which is where the movies are based, has a great story and has plenty of angles to focus on.

When the movie first came out in 2002, it became a box-office hit, but fans of the game abhor it. Now reviews claim that it would be best for the franchise to get a reboot and properly adapt the game this time. Fans would love to see the Spencer Mansion on the big screen than all those gory mindless action scenes.

Also, the game is in the survival horror genre, which the movies clearly are not. Fans believe that it would be best to reboot the movies and bring the horror back to its major theme.

Yes, audiences can't expect a story with a rich narrative from a pop-corn action movie that is only there for its spectacle, but fans would appreciate it if the makers would at least keep a good storyline. One of the best examples is to bring that shady conspiracy aspect of the nefarious Umbrella Corporation to the story.
