John Boyega teases "Pacific Rim Uprising" with new image of Gipsy Danger. The titanic Jaeger seems to be walking by the city buildings with a helicopter flying pass it showcasing the sheer size of the robot.

Boyega, who starred as Finn in 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," was greatly appreciated when he was chosen to be part of the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim," Comic Book reported. According to Mary Parent, the producer of "Pacific Rim Uprising," Boyega stands out among today's leading men with his amazing talent and charm. Meanwhile, director Guillermo del Toro said he is very proud and happy to bring Boyega on board as it would reinforce the multi-layered and multicultural world of the franchise.

"Pacific Rim" blew fans away when it was released in 2013 with every one of them clamouring for a sequel. A follow up to the spectacular gigantic battle between the Yaeger and Kaiju has been under production starting November, Cinemablend reported. Boyega joins Charlie Day and Scott Eastwood in this sequel. Boyega will be playing the son of Idris Elba's Stacker Pentecost, Jake Pentecost, who will also be a Jaeger pilot.

Although there are no official reports on what Yaeger Boyega will pilot and what new robots will be featured in the new film, the image shared by the new cast member reveal that Gypsy Danger will definitely be back. Gipsy Danger is the main Yaeger in the original "Pacific Rim" piloted by Charlie Hunnam and Rinko Kikuchi's characters. Boyega shared the image in his official Instagram account. The black and white image of Gipsy Danger looks even more dramatic with the rain pouring on the foreground.

In the last part of the original movie, it could be recalled that the demise of Gipsy Danger could easily mean that the Yaeger would forever be lost. The giant robot was mutilated into different pieces and was in another dimension after the climactic last stand against the Kaijus.

Gipsy Danger self destructed in the first movie in order to close the Breach of the portal that brings the Kaiju into the world. This could mean that the Gipsy Danger in Boyega's image may be a different robot modelled after the original one. It could be a Gipsy Danger Mark II, which might have new weapons, abilities, and special moves.

The new movie is expected for release on February 18, 2018. Del Toro passed the director's seat down to Steven DeKnight, who will be directing the new "Pacific Rim: Uprising."
