IU and Jang Kiha have broken up. The two stars had started dating back in 2013.

Ilgan Sports revealed that the two had broken up about a week ago. For a while, IU and Jang Kiha have been breaking up and getting back in each other's arm before they finally decided to call it off permanently.

Following the news, Fave Entertainment and Drdr AMC, which represents IU and Jang, respectively, confirmed the couple's break up, Yonhap reported. Their agencies revealed that the breakup was amicable and that the two will continue to support each other's careers.

"It's true they broke up. They decided to stay good sunbae-hoobae," Allkpop has learned. It can be recalled that previously, IU made an apology to her fans when their relationship has gone public, however, acknowledges that she was so in love with her boyfriend.

"We have been dating for almost two years. We met up at a radio show and I fell in love with him at first sight. We argue and cherish each other like just any other couple and I'm sorry but I guess this is the beginning of an open relationship."

In October 2015, South Korean tabloid newspaper, Dispatch, revealed that IU and Jang have been dating. The two met in late 2013 when IU appeared as guest on a radio show Jang was hosting and shortly started their relationship after.

With regards to their 11-year age gap, Jang commented that they are on the same wavelength when talking to each other that they don't feel the age gap. Rather than focusing on trying to overcome the age gap, it serves as a means to learn from each other, he added.

Meanwhile, the 23-year old singer has been an ambassador for South Korea's National Police Agency in their anti-bullying campaign in schools. Before being promoted as an honorary senior police officer in 2014 for a two year term, IU became an honorary member of the police force in 2013.

IU signed up as a trainee with LOEN Entertainment and debuted with her album "Lost and Found."
