"Harry Potter" actor David Thewlis has joined the cast of Emmy Award-winning Noah Hawley anthology "Fargo" Season 3 in a series-regular role. The miniseries continues to add to its already impressive cast.

According to TV Line, Thewlis is slated to play V.M. Vargas in "Fargo" Season 3. He is a mysterious loner and true capitalist. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" voice actor Ewan McGregor will also appear and play the dual roles of brothers Ray Stussy and the Parking Lot King of Minnesota named Emmit.

Other cast members reported to be seen in "Fargo" Season 3 are "The Leftover" actress Carrie Coon as Sheriff Gloria Burgle. Coon's character Sheriff Burgle is the chief of police in Edna Valley and a newly divorced mother struggling to understand the new world around her, wherein people connect more in intimately with their phones than those directly in front of them. Moreover, "10 Cloverfield Lane" actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead will play as a crafty and alluring recent parolee with a passion for competitive bridge playing and a woman with a plan focusing on always being at least one move ahead of her opponent named Nikki Swango, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

"Fargo" is an adaptation of the original 1996 film of the same name by Joel and Ethan Coen. Season 3 has been rumored to take place in 2010 following the events of the breakout of the Season 1. It is unclear how or if it will tie into the events from the first run, though none of the stars from Season 1 are returning for their roles.

Thewlis is a veteran actor of the "Harry Potter" franchise and played the role of Remus Lupin. The actor will next appear in Patty Jenkins' adventure fantasy "Wonder Woman," to be aired in theaters on June 2.

The production of "Fargo" Season 3 is currently underway for a 2017 debut on FX. Hawley has already announced that the premiere date would not be until spring of this year.
