The year has barely begun and gamers are already rewarded with a brand-new PS4 platform exclusive, "Gravity Rush 2." A day after launching, tech sites and video gamers are lauding it for its physics-defying concept, compelling heroine and exceptional graphics.

One drawback, however, is that "Gravity Rush 2" is not newbie-friendly; the gameplay assumes that you are already familiar with "Gravity Rush" and its general interface. As such, what can players expect from this PS-exclusive game? And will it become available in other platforms? Here's everything there is to know about "Gravity Rush 2": storyline, tips and tricks, guides and more.

What 'Gravity Rush 2' is all about

The central premise for "Gravity Rush 2" is actually quite simple. Kat, the game's superheroine, is a magical girl who can control gravitational forces at whim. However, she loses her cat-friend, Dusty the cat, who enables her to fly, and so mines gravity ore in order to keep doing what she does. The two's pairing have been widely lauded by several reviews, largely because of their comic relief and entertaining factor, Stuff reported.

Missions in 'Gravity Rush 2'

For the most part, missions in "Gravity Rush 2" were noted for its excellent use of level design, the same publication reported. Players would find themselves being sent on missions in subcities with cities above them. The game also introduces gamers to several alien landscapes as they battle against Nevis, the demonic enemies scattered throughout the main campaign.

For those familiar with the old "Gravity Rush," fans would notice that Kat is equipped with two new skills in "Gravity Rush 2," according to Heavy. Apart from her ability to bend gravity at will as well as floating/fighting, she's also learned "Lunar" powers, which enable her speedier, lighter attacks and allow her to jump higher. Heavier and harder-hitting ones, meanwhile, hail from her "Jupiter" form, which also make her descents more impactful and powerful, the same publication reported.

Future of franchise beyond 'Gravity Rush 2'

According to director Keiichiro Toyama, the studio is still looking at "Gravity Rush 2" as a blank slate. They've yet to oversee a sequel or a platform-specific versions outside PS, according to Gematsu. Stay tuned for more details on the game.
