Preview

Toronto is on a roll right now with a four-game winning run after losing their two previous games. The team is still holding on to the second spot in the Eastern Conference standings, only one-and-a-half games behind defending NBA champions Cleveland Cavaliers.

A Kyle Lowry-less Raptors pulled off a 119-109 victory over East cellar-dwellers Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night on the road at the Barclays Center for their third straight double-digit win, as per the Toronto Star.

Lowry was rested by head coach Dwane Casey and will reportedly stay on the sidelines in this match versus the Sixers.

DeMar DeRozan led the squad with 36 points on 13-for-28 shooting along with 11 rebounds and six assists while Cory Joseph, Lowry's temporary replacement at starting point guard, had an impressive performance with 33 points, sinking 15-of-22 field goals, four boards, and four assists.

Off the bench, Terrence Ross contributed 15 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two blocks while undrafted rookie Fred VanVleet netted 10 points with four boards and two assists as well.

Meanwhile, the Sixers are also slowly rising in the standings as the team has won six of their last eight games. They are currently third from the last place in the East, which is already an upgrade from their bottom-finish and mere 10 wins last season.

Philadelphia is coming off a 113-104 win over East seventh-seeded team Milwaukee Bucks on the road at the BMO Harris Bradley Center on Monday night, USA Today reported.

A strong fourth quarter from Joel Embiid gave the Sixers the win as the rookie center finished with a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds with two assists, two steals, and five shot blocks.

Ersan Ilyasova had 12 points, four boards, and three assists while Robert Covington added 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Sergio Rodriguez was the fourth starter in double figures with 10 points.

Prediction

The Raptors are an excellent road team this season with a 13-7 slate while the Sixers are poor at home with an 8-14 record. A fifth straight win for Toronto is predicted.
