Moto Z finally received its Android Nougat 7.0 update. The build version NCC25.106-11 arrived on the said Motorola's mobile unit in China, a month after its roll out announcement.

In November last year, the Moto Z and Moto Z Force in the United States already received the Android 7.0 Nougat and now the global release has began, starting with China. The Moto Z Force was updated with the Android Security Patch as well.

In any case, the Moto X Force or Motorola DROID Turbo 2 is the next unit that is likely to get the Nougat upgrade. It was said that the update may come by the end of January or first week of February, Phone Arena reported.

What to expect form the Android 7.0 Nougat update?

The Nougat will bring better performance compared to its predecessor which is the Marshmallow update. It will also feature the battery saver Doze mode. It will start up as soon as the screen is put on standby or turned off.

The mode was first introduced in Marshmallow but the one in Nougat was improved to be more useful. According to Forbes, In Marshmallow, the phone must be in stationary for the Doze to work but with the latest Android 7.0, movements is not a problem as it will still work even while the unit is moving.

GSM Arena mentioned that the Nougat will make Moto Z and Google's Daydream VR platform compatible. There will also be significant changes in the graphics as the Vulkan API also comes to Nougat.

Other key features that Nougat will bring to Moto Z include the split-screen multitasking, quick changing of apps and the new notification panel. Lastly, the completely revamped Settings menu and the quick reply option in the notifications panel will be additional treat to Moto Z users.
