"RWBY" will have its first manga anthology with "Red Like Roses," which will be released in spring.

The famous 3D web series had its first manga adaptation with Shiwa Mori's manga of the same title "RWBY" serialized in Ultra Jump. Rooster Teeth supervised the adaptation, which followed the web series closely albeit narrated in a non-linear fashion, with an additional original side story thrown in. The manga is drawing to a close with its final chapter to be published in the February 2017 issue, Crunchyroll reported.

But there will be a new manga anthology to take its place instead, titled "Red Like Roses," according to Anime News Network. The cover of the first volume of the anthology will feature the work of Ein Lee, the original character designer. As the name implies, the title of the first volume suggests it will focus on the character of Ruby Rose. It is not yet known if there will be other volumes to follow.

"RWBY" follows the adventures of four girls, namely Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long, each with their respective powers and weapons. The series takes place in the world of Remnant, where mankind battles for survival against the Creatures of Grimm. The 4 girls train together to become Huntresses in Beacon Academy in Vale City.

There have been 4 seasons released so far with the original 3D web series, but 3 out of 4 seasons have been licensed for distribution in Japan already, with DVDs and Blu-ray editions for release. Theatrical screenings of the series have been shown in Japan, with a famous cast of voice actors for the Japanese dub of "RWBY".

Fans in the West can look forward to additional material with Viz Media's announcement back in July 2016 that it will release books about the series with all-new original content. Viz Media also started publishing the English edition of Shiwa Mori's "RWBY" manga adaptation in October 2016. While it has not been announced yet on when will the new manga anthology get an official English release, it is expected that Viz Media will also handle "Red Like Roses" for the English-speaking fans.
