Preview

Philadelphia is on a two-game winning run at the moment after going on a four-game losing slide, putting them in the second to the last spot in the Eastern Conference standings, one-and-a-half games in front of cellar-dwellers Brooklyn Nets.

In their most recent game last Tuesday, the Sixers nipped fellow struggling squad Minnesota Timberwolves, 93-91, at their home court of Wells Fargo Center, as per the Philadelphia Magazine.

Joel Embiid led head coach Brett Brown's squad with 25 points, eight rebounds, three assists, one steal, and two blocked shots. Veteran power forward Ersan Ilyasova backed him up with 19 points, five boards, and one block while Robert Covington chipped in 13 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and four steals.

However, Embiid is reportedly unavailable in this match versus the Celtics due to an unspecified injury. Either Nerlens Noel or Jahlil Okafor is expected to replace him in the starting lineup.

Meanwhile, the Celtics have won eight times in their last 10 games to climb to the third spot in the East, three games behind second-place team Toronto Raptors and five-and-a-half games behind conference leaders Cleveland Cavaliers.

Boston thrashed the Utah Jazz, 115-104, at the TD Garden during their last game on Tuesday night, NBC Sports reported.

Isaiah Thomas was impressive with a double-double of 29 points and 15 assists with four rebounds and one steal. Al Horford and Jae Crowder fired 21 points apiece and have combined for eight boards, five assists, and two steals.

Avery Bradley was the fourth member of head coach Brad Steven's starting unit to score in double figures with 14 points, three rebounds, and two assists.

Off the bench, rookie Jaylen Brown contributed 10 points, three boards, one assist, and one block.

Prediction

The Sixers are struggling on the road this season with a 3-10 slate while the Celtics decent at home with a 9-6 record. Boston is a slight favorite to win in this match at the Garden.
