‘Dissidia: Final Fantasy’ News: Square Enix to Reveal its New Character on JanuaryBy / 2017.01.05
"Final Fantasy" and "Dissidia" fans, rejoice! Square Enix has announced a new broadcast for the Japanese video sharing website Nico Nico that its Team Ninja-developed arcade fighting game "Dissidia: Final Fantasy" will be bringing in a new character soon.
According to Dualshockers, the broadcast will air at 9 PM Japan time on Jan. 10 , which fans can view here. The announcement Square Enix is making will mention that "Dissidia: Final Fantasy" will introducing a new character into the roster of heroes and villains most fans are familiar with. In addition to that, the announcement will also demonstrate actual gameplay of the character.
Furthermore, the Nico Nico broadcast from Square Enix will also be introducing a new update along with more tidbits of information during a Q&A session with the developers themselves. The developers participating in the session include Producer Ichiro Hazama, Director Takeo Kujiraoka and PR Lead Yuki Mizuno.
This all sounds exciting considering that "Dissidia: Final Fantasy" was just released back then on Nov. 26, 2015. However, the game still hasn't received a home console port with no hint of a possible reveal coming soon in spite of Square Enix mentioning in the past that "Dissidia" will get one.
As for introduction of the new character, some would suspect that most likely be Noctis or anyone from "Final Fantasy XV".
In related news, the free-to-play iOS and Android version of the game "Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia" has been delayed this year, according to Famitsu (thanks to Siliconera). The developers said that it's "99.9 % done," with a target release date of sometime in "early 2017."
"Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia" is also similar to "World of Final Fantasy" where the game features an all-star cast of sorts and will be recruited during the campaign. The roster for the heroes will be around 20 or so.
