Girls Generation member Seohyun is going solo! The K-Pop idol has been confirmed to make her solo debut later this month.

A source from Girls Generation's agency, SM Entertainment, confirmed recent reports that the actress/singer was going to release her first solo album soon. "Seohyun is currently preparing a solo album, All Kpop quoted the source as saying. "We'll make an announcement once the schedule is confirmed."

The agency has previously addressed reports surrounding her solo debut on more than one occasion. However, at the time, the label played down rumors by stating that nothing had been decided regarding Seohyun's solo album.

It remains to be known whether the 25-year-old singer will be following the footsteps of Jessica Jung and leaving the group to pursue a career as a solo artist later. However, the idol has previously mentioned that she prefers doing activities with her Girls Generation group members as opposed to going solo.

"You know what I like about doing activities as part of Girls' Generation? When you work alone, you have this burden to be professional; but when I'm with my unnis, my heart is at ease, and I can work enjoyably," Soompi cited the artist as saying in an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine. "Even if there is a difficult task, it's less hard because I'm not alone."

Seohyun will be the fourth Girls Generation member to go solo following the likes of Taeyeon, Tiffany and Hyoyeon. She has been furthering her acting career through the SBS drama "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo' and recently bagged the lead role in a new web drama called, "Ruby Ruby Love."

"Ruby Ruby Love" is  a five-episode fantasy romance drama, which follows the life of Lee Ruby, a young woman with a fear of socializing who comes across a magic ring that helps her become a successful jewelry designer. The series, which also stars model-turned actor Lee Cheol Woo, is slated to debut on Jan. 18.
