Both Shaw and Cousins were issued a technical foul for speaking to one another.

It seems there is no game without controversy for DeMarcus Cousins. Following an impressive performance the officials ejected him for technical fouls. But the call was reversed and he was allowed to return to the game.

The bizarre incident occcured in the 126-121 victory over Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, Dec. 20. According to Los Angeles Times, Cousins was fouled by Mason Plumlee at the 35 seconds left of the game. He then walked to the Trail Blazers bench and said something to the bench players. As he spoke his mouthguard flew out in an apparent spitting gesture which made the Trail Blazers bench players pointing right at him.

Officials gave him second technical foul and ejected him out of the game. Cousins pulled the jersey and took off the court. MEanwhile the officials discussed the decision.

After a brief discussion as reported by Sports Illustrated, the decision was rescinded. Upon careful consideration, referees determined that Cousins did not intentionally threw his mouthguard into the stand. The revoked gave Cousins the opportunity to shoot the free throw which he did after shaking his head in disbelief.

He scored a career high 55 points in the game against Blazers, and in the final second of the game he blocked Damian Lillard shot to bring Sacramento Kings their 11th wins this season. Cousins also dominated the paint with 13 rebounds to protect the rim and handed the 17th losses for the Trail Blazers.

In the interview after the game, Cousins complained and slammed the officials.

"It's ridiculous. It's obvious what's being done out here. It's on a nightly basis,” he said. “I hope the world can see now what's really going on out here 'cause it's getting ridiculous. It's really ridiculous,"

Cousins continued his great play in the Wednesday night game against Utah Jazz with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Sacramento Kings won the game by one point 94-93.
