BtoB main vocalist Eunkwang has recently expressed his disapproval on the term ”gives cancer” on a broadcast on the "V" app.
The KPop idol voiced out that the insensitivity of the term to the people who are suffering cancer. He also encouraged everyone to use better terms to avoid conflicts.
“Please try to avoid the phrase 'it gives me cancer'. People say that all the time, but it's a really bad phrase," All KPop quoted Eunkwang as saying.
He further said: "So many people suffer from cancer. Let's think of those people and try to refrain ourselves from using it. We can use better terms. It's better to say things like 'It's frustrating', or 'It makes me angry'. We have to start using better terms to fix things bit by bit."
The ”gives cancer” phrase is a new term agreed by some of Eukwang’s supporters to express their frustration. It is a response to an ongoing webtoon series.
Meanwhile, the artist has recently turned into a music teacher on the December 1 broadcast of “VApp– BTOB The Beat Season 4”. According to Soompi, Eunkwang asked his students, which includes KPop star Ilhoon, to familiarize and interpret the song “Tears”, a song which he performed on “King of Masked Singer.” He later asked them to take down some notes and do some practice on the vibrations.
“[Then,] as you listen to the melody, read the lyrics and reinterpret them. Do your best to draw a picture in your head, and sing with all the emotion you can spare,” Eunkwang instructed his students.
The music lesson ended successfully with the students learning so much from Eunkwang. In fact, they were so attentive to ask questions from their teacher.
Eunkwang started his entertainment career in 2012 after joining BtoB. He also appeared in variety shows including “Enter-K” and “SNL Korea 5”
