In K-Pop lore, there's this thing called the "seven-year curse." Tale has it that idol groups tend to disband or lose members after about seven years together. Only a few idol groups have surpassed this mark, and one of them is BIGBANG. Different groups have different reasons for sticking with each other throughout the years, but in BIGBANG's case the members have more practical and realistic reasons.

During their appearance on MBC's "Infinite Challenge" the members gave tips on how to overcome the much-dreaded "seven-year cruse." Taeyang revealed that there was a point around their seventh year when members started to build up grudges but they never spoke about them.

Daesung jokingly added that even though they had grudges, the reason why they were able to pull through is because of BIGBANG's income. Because of this consideration, Daesung said that they came to a realization that they have to work harder as a group, Soompi reported.

On a more serious note, group leader G-Dragon said that respect, love for one another and sacrifice brought them to where they are now as BIGBANG.

"But to prevent [disbandment] we respect and sacrifice for one another and love one another, so we could make it 10 years together," G-Dragon said, as quoted by allkpop. He added that they are also lucky to be surrounded by good people such as Yang Hyun Suk.

"We're all such different personalities that we complement each other. We've never had a serious argument," rapper T.O.P added. He added that it is the group's dream to make albums and do concerts for as long as they can, much like the legendary rock band the Rolling Stones.

However, the group is aware that even though they are doing so well right now, particularly with the release of their new album "MADE" and title track "Fxxk It," they can still fail at any moment. G-Dragon assured that although they are not afraid of failing, not knowing what the future holds makes them anxious and nervous.
