Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo-Wurtzbach recently promised to pay all of the taxes from her recent win in Las Vegas.

Just recently, Bureau of International Revenue Commissioner Kim Henares said that Wurtzbach is not exempted from paying taxes as the new Miss Universe.

According to the State of the Nation of GMA News, Henares is simply making sure that everyone will be paying the necessary taxes that are due the country.

Meanwhile, Wurtzbach told PEP.ph that she doesn't have any problems paying her taxes as the new Miss Universe because this is something that she also did as a celebrity on ABS-CBN.

"I pay my taxes when I was with ABS-CBN... as an actress; when I was with Binibini, so I'll continue on doing that as long as I'm earning money here, like everybody else," she said.

In other news, Wurtzbach also said that her expensive and prestigious crown shouldn't be taxable because it's not even hers to keep.

According to the publication, the crown is worth $300,000 or P13M.

Some of the former actress' winnings include $300,000 prize money, monthly salary, scholarship and a modeling contract.

Meanwhile, Wurtzbach recently returned to the Philippines for her homecoming.

During one of her interviews, Wurtzbach explained why she decided to stick with her answer regarding military presence in the Philippines, according to Rappler.

According to her, it's quite challenging to think of the right words to say when you're under pressure as opposed to when you're just at home watching television.

"From what I understand, military presence is different from military bases. Military presence, to me, sounds like aid. Military help, security. So it doesn't sound negative at all. So that's why I actually stuck with my answer," she added.

"Although if some people feel very strongly that they're against it, I respect their opinion, and then if they ever want to talk to me about their stand on it, I would gladly listen," she continued.

Back in December, Wurtzbach was asked whether or not she thinks military presence should exist in the Philippines.

At that time, the beauty queen answered, "I think that the United States and the Philippines have always had a good relationship with each other... I don't see any problem with that at all."
