Jennifer Lawrence apologized for her comments on Hawaiian culture and tradition. During a recent guest appearance in "The Graham Norton Show," the Passengers star said in a jest that she used sacred Hawaiian stones to scratch her butt. It was meant as a joke and she was self deprecating, but a lot of critics claim it was offensive.

In her Facebook post, she said she didn't mean to disrespect the Hawaiian culture and that she apologized if she offended anyone, The Wrap reported. While appearing in "The Graham Norton Show" with Passenger co-star Chris Pratt, JLaw said she scratched her butt on a stone in Hawaii during the shoot of "The Hunger Games." Little did she know it was one of the Hawaiian's sacred stones.

The stone budged and a bigger boulder rolled off from the cliff almost killing one of the crew members. Later on she found out she was scratching her but on a sacred stone and locals told her that it was the curse that made the boulders roll down from the mountain. She joked and said that she was their curse.

This was funny for her, and maybe to some of her fans as well, but some critics took to social media to say how offensive her story was. Some people ranted on Social Media saying what she did was culturally insensitive, CNN reported. Hawaiian fans even said they lost their respect for her because she disrespected the stones and mocked their culture.

One critic even said that JLaw's comments were white and evil. Others believe it was racist, that it was a disrespect on their ancestors, and that it was a mockery of their spirituality.

Through Twitter, critics demanded that the young unapologetic Jennifer Lawrence should apologize for what she said about disrespecting the Hawaiian rocks.

She replied to the critics' demand with a post on Facebook saying that she didn't mean to disrespect the Hawaiian people. She also thought she was just making fun of herself when she said that she was the curse of the Hawaiians. But she said she understands if some critics didn't find it funny and she apologized for offending anyone.
