Xiaomi and Asus are taking chances in cornering phablets markets with their latest devices suited for those looking for slightly larger screen (6" screens) with impressive specs. Xiaomi Mi Max Prime and Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra are vying to be the next best thing to a tablet with more to offer under the hood.
Specs Fight
One of the first things users want to know about these devices are their specs. According to ZDNet, Xiaomi wins in terms of battery (4850mAh) compared to Asus as it only offers 4600mAh. In terms of chipset, Xiaomi and Asus are toe-to-toe as both feature octa-core chipset.
Both of these mobile phones are very impressive in mobile gaming because of the chipset and impressive battery life. Although Asus is slightly behind on its battery, real life difference is barely noticeable because of the capability of each device.
But even though both are nearly equal in terms of large screen size, processor and battery, Xiaomi wins the pricing war. Xiaomi Mi Prime is priced at $339.00 while its rival commands a relatively higher $480 after conversion.
One advantage Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra could push to its customers is the simplicity of the device. Xiaomi doesn't have Google Store which will require some technical expertise to go through safe Google Play applications. Asus also wins in camera category with its 23MP back compared to 16MP camera from Xiaomi.
Personal Preference
In the end, it all boils down to personal preference of the consumers. Experienced users of mobile devices could work with Xiaomi with its impressive specs but a little help is needed on its launcher since Xiaomi comes with a unique MIUI based on Android 6.1. On the other hand, Asus could immediately work with users with very minimal hassle and it's also known to provide impressive quality pictures.
