Preview

New York snapped a four-game winning streak when they bowed to the defending champions Cleveland Cavaliers, 126-94, on Wednesday night at their own home court of Madison Square Garden, as per the New York Daily News.

Carmelo Anthony only played 24 minutes because of foul trouble. He scored eight points on 4-for-9 shooting with four rebounds, two assists, and one blocked shot. Kristaps Porzingis had a sub-par shooting night, going 5-for-15 from the field. The rest of the team struggled on defense as the Cavs took advantage of every opportunity to score points.

Derrick Rose missed the game, his first this season, because of a sore back and many analysts believed that his absence may have affected the Knicks' overall toughness to compete against LeBron James and company.

Brandon Jennings had 16 points, four boards, and three assists as Rose's temporary replacement while Courtney Lee chipped in 15 points, two boards, and five assists.

Off the bench, big man Kyle O'Quinn had 10 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in a solid performance as a backup.

The Knicks are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference, four games behind the conference leaders Cavaliers.

Meanwhile, the Kings snapped a three-game losing slide with a 120-89 rout of the Dallas Mavericks on the road at the American Airlines Center also on Wednesday, the Sacramento Bee reported.

DeMarcus Cousins once again led Sacramento with an almost triple-double performance of 24 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, and three shot blocks. Rudy Gay and Darren Collison both scored 19 points to help back up Cousins.

Garrett Temple and Omri Casspi were impressive off the bench with 17 and 10 points respectively.

Despite the win, the Kings are still in 10th in the West, two-and-a-half games behind the Portland Trail Blazers, who presently occupies the eighth spot.

Prediction

The Knicks are a poor road team, having a 3-6 record in away games. The Kings are worse at home with a 4-5 slate so far this season. New York is predicted to win as Rose could return in this game.
