San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard showed amazing performance this regular season. He led the Spurs to 18-4 records in the third month of the season. He is now joining Russel Westbrook and James Harden for the MVP race.

Leonard silently join the MVP race with his remarkable performance. Different from Westbrook and Harden, who perform a one man show to bring their team to win, Leonard uses the system and bring his team mate to be better.

According to ESPN, Leonard is successfuly “navigating through the greenlight” from the head coach Gregg Popovich.” He is the player who put the team first and coach Popovich has respect for him.

"By this point in his career, he's a confident player,” coach Popovich said. “He knows he has a green light. We call his number now and then, but he does a lot of this stuff on his own, and he's getting pretty good at pick-and-roll.”

The 6’7” forward is now averaging 24.5 points with 5.9 rebounds per game. His amazing play has made him to be listed as one of the MVP candidate, USA Today reported. He is the type of player who always steps up whenever his team need him.

Up to now, Leonard has posted high scoring game with more than 30 points for six times. His last one is in the 105-91 victory against the Wolves on Tuesday night. He led the Spurs to remain undefeated in the away game.

He has won two-time Defensive Player of the Year and one NBA championship in 2014. Leonard also won the MVP title for 2014 NBA Finals when San Antonio Spurs defeated Miami Heat 4-1. This year he may have the chance to win the regular season MVP.
