Three straight losses has given Cleveland Cavaliers a major setback after the good start this season. Their performance in offense and defense clearly decline and making them vulnerable for more losses.
Their losing streaks started on Tuesday, Nov. 29 in a 101-118 losses against the Milwaukee Bucks. Two days later, they suffer 94-113 loss against LA Clippers, followed by the latest one against Chicago Bulls with 105-111 defeat.
On the offensive end, according to USA Today, their scoring average dropped significantly. In the last three games, they only made 99.6 points per 100 possession. While before the last three games, they were able to score 109.6 points.
Meanwhile on defensive end, they gave up 113.9 points per 100 possession to their three last opponents. That signifies a serious gap in their defense. Previously they could contain their opponents offense, allowing them to score only 105.1 in 100 possession in their previous games.
Following the third loss against Chicago Bulls, James is very frustrated. In a post-game interview as reported by ESPN , he said that the team must get better. He also stated his opinion in an unusual way.
"The honeymoon stage is over, and it's time to play some real ball and be physical,” James said. “Especially in the trenches. Giving up 78 points is ridiculous. We've got to man up. Everybody."
In the third losing game against Chicago Bulls, James led the scoring with 27 points. He also posted 13 assists, but that is not enough as he also made 8 unnecessary turnovers. His turnovers has also played the major part to the third losses, as he tallied 20 turnovers in the last three games.
With three consecutive lossess Cleveland Cavaliers now has 13-5 records. They will play their next game at the Air Canada Center, visiting Toronto Raptors on Monday night, Dec. 5. The Cavaliers need to fix their game against the high scoring guards DeMar DeRozan and Toronto Raptors.
