Capcom has finally announced its newest "Marvel vs. Capcom" title called "Infinite" through its official debut during Sony's press conference at PlayStation Experience 2016 (PSX 2016).

Previous reports suggested that an upcoming "Marvel vs. Capcom" would be in the making possibly having more heroes - especially those from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) like Ant-Man - and those from X-Men franchise taken out from the fighter roster.

In fact confirming this is a trailer for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" that has been unveiled by Capcom recently. In it, the Capcom's Mega Man and "Street Fighter's" Ryu have teamed up against Iron Man. As the intense battle heats, both of Capcom's heroes try to grab the Infinity Stones out of the air.

These stones are considered to be powerful artifacts from the MCU and are a nod to one of Capcom's previous Marvel-themed video game "Marvel Super Heroes where players collected the stones to enhance attributes during fights, according to Gamespot.

Another surprise turn of events is when Captain Marvel joins up Iron Man to fight off Ryu and Mega Man. Earlier reports already confirmed that "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will be including characters from the MCU, thereby omitting any X-Men characters, unlike the previous installments. While this has yet to be confirmed, we know this: Captain Marvel is said to have her own movie in the future.

As the trailer ends, it showed that the game will be released for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime on 2017. And its first gameplay will also be shown at the Capcom Cup event.

Marvel Entertainment's executive producer Mike Jones has this to say: "For the last two decades, 'Marvel Vs. Capcom' has been one of the most celebrated franchises among fans. To deliver on that legacy, we've worked closely with Capcom to create a game that honors the heritage of the series and combines Marvel's unique brand of storytelling with Capcom's world-class gameplay. We're raising the bar with Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and are excited for players to get their hands on it next year."
