British royalty and pop royalty meets up in an island in the Caribbean on the first day of December.
Prince Harry met with Music superstar Rihanna while he was in a trip to Barbados to celebrate the country's 50 years of Indipendence, E! Online reported.
Rihanna, whose home town is Barbados, easily became friends with the prince that day as they enjoyed a concert together later in the evening, Daily Mail reported. The two attended the Golden Anniversary Spectacular Mega Concert held at the Kensington Oval Cricket Ground.
Prince Harry met Rihanna earlier that day during the Prime Minister's Toast to the Nation, which was held at St Ann's Fort.
The prince delivered The Queen's message on stage congratulating the country on their 50th anniversary. The message said that Britain and Barbados shared history and has a bond of affection that continues to last. The Queen even tweeted on the Royal Family's official account sending her congratulations to the country's Golden Jubilee of Independence.
Earlier that morning, the prince went to Queen Elizabeth Hospital located in Bridgetown to share his affection to the sick children in that institution. The prince thanked the health workers who were working despite the holiday. The Queen also visited the same hospital way back February 1966. A plaque that honors her visit still hangs on the wall of the hospital.
This occasion is not the first time that the prince visited the Island of Barbados. He went to the Island in January 2010 to meet with locals. He was there that time with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho.
Prince Harry is almost done with his 15-day visit to the Caribbean. Besides Barbados, he has visited Grenada and St Lucia, St Kitt's and Nevis. His last day in the Caribbean will be at Guyana, where he will meet the country's head David Granger.
Besides the 50th year of independence for Barbados, his visit to the Caribbean also marks the 50th Anniversary of Independence for Guyana, and Antigua and Barbuda's 35th Anniversary of Independence.
The event that evening at Barbados was broadcasted live from the Garrison Savannah, which is where the independence of Barbados was declared on November 30, 1966.
