"Non-Stop" star Liam Neeson saddles up and reunites Neil Jordan for a horse drama movie "The Trainer." The upcoming film provides a beautiful and life-affirming story of a man learning to live again.
According to Deadline, Neeson will play as a premier horse trainer John Moore in the west of Ireland in "The Trainer." Beset by tragedy, he loses everything he cherishes and almost forgets how to live.
In the plot of "The Trainer," a teenage refugee Nadya comes into Moore's life. She has fled her own horrors and now finds herself in a confounding new world, Variety reported. Their only connection to themselves and ultimately to their own hearts is a horse called Allabelle, who is about to prove that they may all have one race left inside of them.
"The Trainer" is written by David Donohue, James Villemaire, and "Sully" scribe Todd Komarnicki. It is produced by Arthur Lappin, Robin Gurland, Todd Komarnicki, and Gregory O'Connor. It was developed with the support of the Irish Film Board.
CAA is arranging the financing for "The Trainer" and represents its domestic distribution rights. HanWay Films has introduced it to buyers at the American Film Market.
Neeson is one of the world's most beloved actors. He did unforgettable performances in films ranging from "Schindler's List" to "Love Actually." He is most recently seen in "A Monster Calls" and has several major projects in line, notably "Silence" as Father Cristovao Ferreira, "Felt" as the lead Mark Felt, and "The Commuter."
Neeson and Jordan are a great pairing since "Michael Collins." Jordan's last feature was "Byzantium" (2012) starring "The Host" star Saoirse Ronan and has recently been shooting the crime series "Riviera." Neeson and Jordan are repped by CAA; Jordan is also represented by Casarotto Ramsey & Associates.
"The Trainer" is set to start principal photography in Ireland next summer.
