The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update will soon to be released. It will be released on Dec. 6, 2016 on the Nexus phones, the Google branded devices. This includes the Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Pixel C, and most recently the Nexus 9.

The current Android is version 7.0 Nougat. What are the features of the Android version 7.0 Nougat? First, it speaks multiple languages. As Android stated on its website, users can also switch between apps at the same time.  So, users can watch a movie while texting and thus on.

What are the new features of Android 7.1.1 Nougat?

Android 7.1.1 Nougat will have the Apps shortcut feature, International Business Times reported. It is like their version of the Apple 3D Touch.

The functionality of the types of touch on the app would vary. If it is only a regular tap, it would just open the app. When the users apply a long press, a drop down menu will appear where users can implement the shortcut command. In this case, users can view their notifications or send a Twit on Twitter without the need of opening the full app.

In addition, users can tweak the app icon designs. Instead of a box type app icon, they can be transformed into a circular form. Also, they can have changes in the keyboard. They could be changed into a colorful keyboard.

Exclusive to the Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, they can have a Google Assistant, much alike to Siri. Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphone users can also have various updates to their camera app and to the finger sensor.

How can users avail the Android Nougat 7.1.1 update?

Users must have the eligible smartphones and devices. Then, they would be able to register to the Google's Android Beta Program. Once the users are in the program, they can update the operating system wirelessly. Users can also install the software manually.

When will the Android 7.1 Nougat be released on all Android phones?

On the first three days of release, only 10,000 phones selected randomly are eligible for software update. From the fourth day to the 13th day, only 10 percent of the remaining pool will be selected each day and also, the users must check the update manually. Finally, on the 14th day, all users are eligible for Android 7.1 Nougat update.
