Trump, who has held meetings with media executives over the last few days, has often had a tense relationship with many mainstream media outlets.

Reddit CEO Steve Huffman revealed that he edited some of the comments about him made by supporters of the new President-elect Donald Trump.

He said he didn't change the meaning of the posts and that he simply redirected the hate speech back at the Trump fans who wrote insults against him, BBC reported. The controversy follows the issue that Reddit banned a thread about a conspiracy that involves Hillary Clinton.

Huffman said he edited some of the message because they were critical and abusive. All of which were aimed at him.

He said he simply changed mentions about him in the thread, however, this brings back concerns that the site can't really work properly with its community, Tech Crunch reported.

The controversy is about #pizzagate, which is a fake news story about a pizza restaurant in Washington. According to the fake news, the pizza pace is a major base for child trafficking operation that Hilary Clinton runs.

Even though the story is face, it gained a lot of attention online that the New York Times even wrote about it. As it became very popular, of course it made its way to Reddit. But the site closed the Pizzagate subreddit since it posts about the private information of a person, which is against the terms and conditions of the company.

He said that they want to maintain a good relationship with the community of the site, but he just gets fed up constantly being called a pedophile.  He said that he shouldn't meddle with this issue being the CEO of Reddit. The site's community team is very angry at him, which means he definitely won't do it again, Huffman said.

He even jested that his case was him trolling the trolls. Huffman and Alexis Ohanian founded Reddit in 2005. Huffman left the company and developed his own sit Hipmunk in 2010. Last year, he went back to Reddit as CEO, replacing Ellen Pao.

Ellen Pao's departure from the company wasn't smooth as her actions resulted to the close of popular threads and the firing of Reddit's community manager Victoria Taylor. This made many users angry. Some even made hateful remarks against her.
