The upcoming remake of the 90's critically-acclaimed "System Shock" won't be coming as soon as we've hoped on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One, announced developer Nightdive Studios.

Night Studios made an announcement in the Kickstarter site to all the backers in the site as a form of FAQs. When asked about the release of the "System Shock" remake, they answered: "Our goal is to launch on PC/Mac/Linux/Xbox One/PS4 by Q2 of 2018. Not sure if it will be a simultaneous launch, but we'll do our best."

While it could be possible that the 90's remake would be getting some earlier release on some platforms, it doesn't sound like we'll be getting an exact release date for the "System Shock" remake soon, according to Gamespot. Previously, Nightdive Studios announced that the game would be released next year on December. It had a successful campaign in Kickstarter that expanded the scope for the project, but we're hoping that it won't be a major factor in the game's delay.

Nightdive has already begun working on the gameplay mechanics and explained the lengthy process in developing the game and how the game should look like:

"Basically, [it] lets us prove out our pipelines and narrow down how the game should and shouldn't play. By the end of [it], we'll have a better understanding of what we can achieve with the time/budget we have, and have a more accurate plan moving forward to create a quality game."

The studio also said that it's working on a vertical slice of the "System Shock" remake to "have some awesome stuff to show in the coming months."
