AOA member Mina is reportedly dating Iranian actor and composer Hamed Tehrani and the couple has plans to tie the knot soon, according to several Iranian news outlets.
The local reports claim that Tehrani announced that he was getting married to the K-pop idol. "I'm dating Korean actress and singer AOA's Mina," AllKPop quoted the actor as saying. "Mina was going to come to Tehran last month, but she wasn't able to because she was so busy."
Tehrani also told the media outlets that he wanted to keep the relationship discrete, as Mina's life would change completely if the affair becomes public knowledge. He added that the singer will soon be visiting Tehran and they are already thinking about getting hitched.
After news hit the Internet, many AOA fans flooded Tehrani's social media account with messages and comments, asking if the reports were true. The 31-year-old actor/composer has previously shared posts expressing his love for K-pop and Mina in particular on his social media account.
In a telephonic interview with Yonhap News, the Iranian addressed the rumors surrounding him and Mina. "I was very surprised by the headlines," he said, according to Soompi. "The reports are false, and it's not true that I said those things."
Tehrani also apologized AOA's Mina and angry K-Pop fans in Iran. He also deleted a previously shared picture of an autograph signed by Mina, captioned "I won't explain."
The girl group's agency, FNC Entertainment, also issued an official statement in the wake of the reports. "The news in question is completely false. We don't even know who the Iranian actor is," the statement read.
"Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" actor Kwak Dong Yeon recently named Mina as one of the AOA members he is close to during an interview with Sports Seoul. The other members of the girl group he mentioned were Seolhyun an Jimin.
