Billy Bob Thornton recently opened up on why his marriage with Angelina Jolie fell apart. He said the reason was that they wanted different things in life.
Thornton revealed the real reason for the break up in the November 2016 issue of GQ Magazine.He said he never felt good for the actress, GQ reported. He said that Jolie was always meeting people from U.N., especially after being named UN Goodwill Ambassador in 2001. On the other hand, Thornton is more concerned about staying at home and watch baseball.
The 61-year-old star of "Bad Santa 2" said he isn't comfortable being around rich and important personalities. He said he doesn't want to change and that he likes how he is, E! Online reported.
After Thornton and Jolie divorced in 2003, Billy Bob later on married Connie Angland, who is his sixth wife. They now have a 12-year-old daughter, Bella. Meanwhile, Jolie went on to marry Brad Pitt, and they have six children. Just a few months before they split, Thornton and Jolie announced that they are planning to adopt a child from Cambodie. After they separated, Jolie proceeded to adopt Maddox, who is now 15 years old. Angelina's other children are 12-year-oldPax, 11-year-old Zahara, 10-year-old Shiloh, and 8-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
Despite the split, Thornton said he is still in good terms with Jolie, and that they meet up every two months to catch up. When they meet up, he said, it is as if time hasn't passed.
According to Thornton, he is more content with his wife now, because Connie is a homebody like him. Meanwhile, their daughter, Bella, is also homeschooled. This means when Billy Bob is not working, he can spend more time with his family. They are a tight knit family. Sometimes they sing along to Bella's music when they drive around.
He said he doesn't like confirming that Connie is her sixth wife, because he doesn't want her to be called his sixth. That is why he didn't marry her yet when he fell in love with her, because he didn't want her to be just a number. He felt he found the one in Connie. Now that they have Bella, they have decided in 2014 to make their union official.
