Google is constantly releasing major updates in their Android devices especially in their flagship phones. While the rest of the mobile users are enjoying the new features of Android 6.0 or Marshmallow, Android 7.0 Nougat is already getting some minor upgrade for upcoming users.

Android Marshmallow and Nougat: Behind the Scene Upgrades

Android 5.0 or Lollipop features a different Android experience because of the major changes not only in UI but also in performance capability. But Marshmallow and Nougat offer a different type of update: instead of pushing for a different UI for users to adapt again, Google vastly improved the background interaction of Android and battery efficiency.

Among the major updates on Marshmallow, according to PC Mag is the monthly release of security patches and support for editing the shortcuts on quick settings. Complementing the security setting on Marshmallow update is the limitation on hardware access of downloaded apps. In gist, users can block data access of apps that does not really warrant some info sharing.

New Features for Android 7.1 Nougat: Shortcuts and Keyboards

Nougat 7.1 is also implementing updates that refines user interaction without major changes in general Android experience. According to Android Authority, one of the most impressive features on the latest Android version is the ability to create a command shortcut of any application. Currently available in all Google apps and select applications, users simply long press an app so they can select an action without opening the app first or simply create a shortcut that immediately points to the said action.

The keyboards in Android will also go through some unnoticed but laudable changes. Although currently in developer preview, Android will support image keyboard where applications can easily send images with little effort.

The native Google keyboard will also go through subtle changes in Nougat 7.1. The current Google keyboard currently holds massive library of emojis but it will also have more in the upcoming Android rollout.

Google Android OS - All About Refinement

Building on the major UI changes from Lollipop, Marshmallow and Nougat presents subtle refinements on Android experience. The only question is the manufacturer adaption of the major rollouts from Google.
