"Gangnam Style" singer Psy is being dragged to Korea's political scandal, following a congressman's accusation where he hinted that a popular K-pop idol is involved in the political gaffe.

According to Congressman Ahn Min Suk, Choi Soon Sil and his niece, Jang Shi Ho, have allegedly used an organization to have an influence in the entertainment industry, adding that a certain K-pop idol is participating in the process in exchange for benefits and profits, Allkpop reported.

"A singer - who is very famous - keeps being invited to international events out of nowhere to represent Korea. There are many singers who could qualify, but this one singer hoards all the events for the last couple of years," Cong. Ahn said.

The accusation raised the interest of the netizens, who are speculating that the alleged organization is Twister Soccer Club. Also, rumor has it that Psy is a close friend of Jang Shi Ho and Cha Eun Tak, who allegedly work for Choi.

Amid rumors linking Psy to the current political scandal in Korea, his label, YG Entertainment, has finally spoken up to stop the accusations pressed against their artist. The agency denied any connection between Psy and the people allegedly involved in the scandal.

"Jang Shi Ho was never a part of our company, and Psy and Jang Shi Ho have never even met. Also, Psy was never a part of "Twister Soccer Club." We will take legal action against baseless rumors," YG Entertainment said in a dispatch.

Meanwhile, President Park Geun Hye was apologetic during her televised address to the nation. According to Al Jazeera, the Korean president took the blame for the scandal and said, "I feel a huge responsibility [for the scandal] deep in my heart. It is all my fault and mistake."

"I put too much faith in a personal relationship and didn't look carefully at what was happening," Park continued, adding that the current scandal is keeping her up all night.

"I realize that whatever I do, it will be difficult to mend the hearts of the people, and then I feel a sense of shame and ask myself, "Is this the reason I became president?""

The Korean president also said she is open for investigations by the prosecutors and even by an independent counsel.
