"Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" the subject of racism. But instead of the inequality people experience because of race, the host has a very specific focus that speaks volumes for everyone's future in the country: school segregation.

According to Boston Magazine, the host pointed out that black and Latino students are most likely attend school with inexperienced teachers. Because of this situation, the students are not well-equipped and prepared for college since the school might not offer curriculum that prepares them for the next level of education. Ironically, the segregation problem Oliver pointed out was not in the southern states but in New York as well as Boston.

The biggest challenge, according to the host is the fact that the desegregation laws are aimed for those with systemic segregation. The northern states don't have the same concern in the past and segregation is still happening because students are assigned to their neighborhood schools. The host argues that segregated neighborhoods will ultimately result to segregated schools.

According to Wall Street Journal, Oliver pointed out that integration is very important because funding tends to follow schools with heavy integration. A clip was played where a school official said that the school's facility improved because of heavy integration.

Oliver played multiple clips about the disparity of schools. There was an exchange program where the student was surprised about the massive facilities the students were enjoying in school. There was even a clip of a black student stating blatantly of their inferiority because of the kind of education they are getting.

The lack of integration is also a problem for white children as well since Oliver pointed to a clip where a child simply pointed to a darker skinned drawing of a children as bad. The lack of integration will ultimately affect them when they grow up.

Oliver focused his discussion on race on school segregation. He argues that integration happens to develop not only the school's education but also the child's early interaction with other races which could help them as they grow old.
