Meanwhile, Wu, back in September 2015, talked to GQ magazine about her role Jessica on "Fresh Off The Boat."
"My initial feeling on the very first draft of the pilot was that it was very weird. But I liked it because it didn't seem like a standard sitcom. There was a line that she had that said, "I'm sorry, I have to go. A wasp just flew into my mouth." That line doesn't have anything to do with being Asian, and I remember reading it like, That's weird, but I completely got it. It was a little odd, and I kind of liked that," Wu said.
