According to the synopsis for episode 3 of "New Girl" Season 5 (via Spoilersguide), Jess is very excited for her jury service. She is hopeful to make the best of it. However, things take an unexpected turn when she reaches the courtroom. It seems she is disappointed to find out that she is there for some work promotion.
Back at the loft, things don't look too good. Hannah Simone's Cece Parekh is giving tough time to Nick. Nick has had enough of Cece's disorderliness in the loft and it seems he reaches his breaking point. How Nick handles the situation remains to be seen. Will Cece cooperate?
A promo video for "New Girl" Season 5 teases the events of episode 3. It appears Jess desperately wants to get out of her jury duty but before she could do that she finds herself become the center of attention in the session.
Meanwhile, fans know that Cece and Schmidt are now engaged. This means they are one step closer to getting married. So how is it all going to happen? Speaking to E! News, actor Max Greenfield, who plays the role of Schmidt, teased wedding plans for the couple and some issues. "There's a wedding to plan, so you can imagine who's going to have some issues," Greenfield said about his character's engagement with Cece.
At the same time, "New Girl" creator revealed that Season 5 is about "growing up" for the characters. Recently, TV Guide notes that Schmidt proposing Cece is a "milestone in adulthood" and the couple is going to try to live up to the challenge.
"There's been a lot of really funny stuff we've done over the years with them being incredibly immature, but it felt like the right moment to let them take steps forward," Liz Meriwether told the abovementioned publication.
