Capcom's "Resident Evil 2" was considered one of the best (if not, THE best) title in the series. Just back then at 2015, rumors of a remake coming out for modern have excited fans for the series. While it has been rumored to be released with the latest title in the series "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard," fans speculated that the remake might possibly be delayed or even canceled since there hasn't been any other update on the game yet.

While the well-known game company Capcom is currently working day and night to develop the seventh installment in the series, fans are a little bit worried that the "Resident Evil 2" remake might not make it to completion. Capcom's R&D Division 1, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi (a.k.a. "H") mentioned that it may take quite some time before they can release an update on the game's status, hence it being too early for fans to get too worried about the cancellation.

It was further mentioned in a video announcement that he would give us more updates about the project in the official Facebook page. While it may take some time before any of that comes out, Hirabayashi also encouraged the fans for the other HD remasters of the other titles in the series like "Resident Evil Zero."

Reddit users also mentioned that the "Resident Evil 2" remake might be released along with the upcoming "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard." This would be speculated to be true since Capcom would be celebrating its 20th anniversary for the "Resident Evil" series in January next year.

Other fans are also a little more hopeful since the remake might have a demo before this year ends. This would give the developers a chance to polish the game before its eventual release on 2017.

In earlier news, to even further back this information up on the "Resident Evil 2" remake, it was mentioned that a NeoGaf user claimed that the "Beginning Hour" demo of "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" might have clues on the remake.

The user pointed out that the strip of numbers on the left hand side of the demo might be a clue on the game as the second string of numbers indicated the product ID of the first "Resident Evil" in the first PlayStation console, especially in the "Director's Cut" that included the "Resident Evil 2" demo back then.

Fans are continuously hoping that their dreams of remade classic would come into fruition, along with the hopes of an epic "Resident Evil 7" game. The seventh installment is set for release on Jan. 14, 2017 for the PS4, PS VR, Xbox One and PC.
