The rumors about Season 8 of the "The Vampire Diaries" are circulating fast as the show's finale season is about to come out soon even though there has not been any official confirmation about the same. As per the reports, the show's producers are going to cast the "Twilight" fame actress Kristen Stewart opposite show's lead actor Ian Somerhalder.
Interestingly, the return of the actress Nina Dobrev still remains uncertain. Amidst the growing speculations, it has been circulated online that the producers of the show find Stewart's role in "Twilight" an added advantage that would make her fit for the vampire franchise.
The producers of the show are thinking to cast Stewart in a guest role in the finale season. It is even reported that Stewart is in talks with the showrunner Julie Plec about her role in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 so that her romance with Somerhalder in the finale will stand out.
Meanwhile, the return of Dobrev still remains a mystery and so things need to wait till any official confirmation comes up. The show's ratings dropped drastically as soon as Dobrev made an exit from the show. While it has only affected the show, it is reported many times of its huge effect on Somerhalder's personal life as well, especially his marriage with Nikki Reed, UnReality TV reported.
In other news, it has been said that even Somerhalder is requesting his ex-girlfriend and previous co-star Dobrev to return to the show and save the show. It would definitely give a boost to the show's ratings towards the end as it is really going to help his career as well.
She has not reportedly answered any queries regarding her return. She is frequent on the red carpet but has stayed clear from answering any questions about her return. She had previously told CinemaBlend that she wanted Elena's character to be short only.
When Dobrev left the show during Season 6, there was reportedly a huge conflict going on between Somerhalder and Reed, as Reed was not at all happy with her husband working with his former flame. While it is too early to say how things will be rolling out until the premier of the "The Vampire Diaries" on Oct. 21 on the CW.
