Three lucky fans were selected to be with "BigBang's" Taeyang for Chuseok. The fans are from Taeyang's hometown Uijeongbu and were given the ultimate fan service.
On Sept. 14 at 7:00 p.m Korea Standard Time (KST), a special broadcast of the outdoor date streamed live showing Taeyang enjoying with his fans while making songpyeon (a type of Korean rice cake). In the process of making the songpyeon, Taeyang asks his fans if there are any stories about him circulating in Uijeongbu, and one fan reveals, "I heard one person even jumped out of a bus window when they recognized you during your student days," Soompi reported.
Taeyang also serenaded the fans with his song "Eyes, Nose, Lips" along with some games including Yunnori (A Korean traditional board game), charades and Pictionary. The date was filled with laughter, funny conversations, and good time.
At the end of the broadcast, Taeyang stated "This meeting was all the more meaningful because these guys are my longtime fans. It was a bit awkward at first but I am happy because now we feel like a family and I hope we get to hold these kind of event more often in the future," AllKpop cited.
Dong Young-bae better known by his stage name Taeyang is a South Korean singer-songwriter. At the age of 12, Taeyang began his training under YG Entertainment after his appearance on the music video "A-yo" by Jinusean.
In 2006, Taeyang debuted as member of the South Korean boy band Big Bang, a five-member band with members G-Dragon, T.O.P, Daesung, and Seungri. However, the 28-year old actor began pursuing his solo career in 2008 with the release of his first extended play "Hot."
Following his success in his solo career, Taeyang's second studio album "Rise (2014)" peaked at number 112 on the US Billboard 200 Chart, becoming the highest ranking album by a Korean soloist to enter the chart. His single "Eyes, Nose, Lips" become number one on Billboard K-pop Hot 100 Chart, marking his first solo single number one on the chart.
