Justin Timberlake teased fans about his new album, but said that the release date was still uncertain.

Although the new album will not be released this year, he guaranteed that it would come out before 2018. On the other hand, his latest single "Can't Stop the Feeling" will be used as a soundtrack for the upcoming film "Trolls" by Dreamworks Animation. The song was inspired by his 15-month-old son, which rekindled his interest to make a new album.

Timberlake spoke during the San Diego Comic-Con about how his 15-month-old son Silas has changed the way he viewed the world, which also shaped his songwriting. Just Jared reported that the singer-actor expressed how Silas opened a door to a new world for him, which explains his song "Can't Stop the Feeling." He described the experienced by referencing "The Matrix" movie.

Timberlake was also at the Comic-con to promote Dreamworks' new animated film "Trolls," which is based on the classic 1960's troll dolls by Thomas Dam. He told Variety that being back in the studio and helping the filmmakers create a soundtrack for the film lit a spark for him to make a new album. He also shared that he drew influence from the classic disco tunes from the 1970's, such as the popular "Earth, Wind and Fire," and added a few elements into his track "Can't Stop the Feeling."

Aside from writing and producing the soundtrack "Can't Stop the Feeling" for "Tolls," Timberlake also voices the character named Branch for the film. The film, just like his song, intends to remind people of the good feelings despite the dire conditions that the world is facing.
