The "Sully" actor, Tom Hanks, gave the White House press a brand new espresso machine on March 2, Thursday. This is the third time that Hanks did it to them as a gesture of generosity.
In an article published by CNN, the "Angels & Demons" actor first gave the White House press corps a coffee machine back in 2004. This time, he did it and encouraged them with words telling them to keep up the work in fighting "for the truth, justice and the American way."
Those are just some of the words he imprinted on the note he included in his gift. The coffee machine was delivered by mail and the press corps of White House couldn't be more grateful after they received it. The first time Hanks gave them a coffee machine, he was with his family doing a White House trip.
The actor noticed that the press in that place didn't even have a regular coffee pot to use. Yahoo said that he was sensitive enough to feel the need of these journalists for a decent espresso machine that he immediately ordered one to bring it to them.
It didn't end there because he did it again in 2010 and during that time, he went along with famous director, Steven Spielberg. He reminded the press people on how to use the coffee machine properly. He said that they are supposed to clean it after they use it because he was seeing a lot of built up coffee dirt that he was concerned it is going to broken soon.
Now, the new espresso machine didn't come cheap because it is worth $2,000. Everybody thought that Hanks is indeed generous for doing this and at the same time concern about journalists only putting out the truth in their reports.
