The management of Sacramento Kings is reported to hold the trade for their center DeMarcus Cousins until the trade deadlone. The Kings General Manager Vlade Divac expected Cousins to stay in Sacramento.

In an interview with ESPN, Divac said that Cousins will go nowhere before the trade deadline on Feb. 23. However, his words did not mean the Sacramento Kings management will not trade the 6’11” player to other team. It has been reported that the Kings have made a conversation with Phoenix Suns for a trade deal involving Cousins.

“We're not trading DeMarcus. We hope he's here for a long time," Divac said. The general manager was also reported to have been talking to Cousins agent regarding the intention to keep him in Sacramento.

Regardless of the statement from Divac, the speculation about Cousins trade has spread like a wildfire. Especially, Cousins’ contract will expire after the end of 2017-18 season and he will have the player option by the end of this season.

This season, Sacramento Kings repeated the same path as the previous seasons with the losing streak. According to Bleacher Report, Cousins does not lead the team to success. Therefore, the All-Star has not made a big impact to the team, moreover bringing the Kings to the playoffs.

Cousins is often entangled in the problem because of his temperament and erratic play. The last incident was in the game against the Bulls on Monday night, Feb. 6. He committed his 16th technical foul in the 107 - 112 loss at Golden 1 Center, Sacramento. According to NBA rule, a player of coach who committed 16th technical fouls in a season.

The 26-year old center had two technical foul in that game. One for an argument with Chicago Bulls assistant coach Jim Boylen and one for his over reaction in the final seconds of the game when he thought he was fouled.
