Mindy Kaling visited her old Los Angeles apartment where she stayed when she was just a starting writer for "The Office."

"The Mindy Project" star shared a photo of the now condemned building at 1240 N. Fairfax Avenue on Instagram. It was her first apartment when she moved to Los Angeles eleven years ago. She added that she used to watch a lot of Dave Chappelle's show back then.

The actress shared that she was proud of her apartment that she even named her AIM screen name after it. That is, until her ex-boyfriend and "The Office" co-star BJ Novak told her that she should change it.

In May of last year, Kaling and Novak announced that they are writing a book together. According to Vanity Fair, the former couple reportedly inked a deal with Penguin Random House for a whopping $7.5 million.

Unfortunately for fans of Ryan and Kelly, the book will not be a tell-all about their relationship. While Kaling admits that they are still in the early stages, she insisted that their on-again, off-again relationship will not be its main focus. Whatever they decided to come up with, she said that it is definitely going to be "great and funny."

While some would avoid their exes like the plague, Kaling and Novak seem quite the opposite. When asked if it was awkward working with an old flame, the actress said that it was not difficult at all.

"We understand each other, so it makes working together easy. I love working with him," Kaling explained.

Kaling and Novak get along so well that the latter even guest starred and directed a few episodes of "The Mindy Project." Speaking to People, Kaling shared that Novak even helped her cast her onscreen partner for the series.

During the casting, Kaling recalled that she was hesitant getting Chris Messina for the role of Danny Castellano.

"Our energies were so different, it might be enjoyable to watch, but I didn't know going into it," she shared.

Novak, however, insisted that she gives him a secon chance, saying that he had a "good feeling" about him. A decision that definitely paid off given Mindy and Danny's strong onscreen chemistry.
