The New Orleans Pelicans (19-29) and Toronto Raptors (29-19) are set to face one another in a 2016-2017 NBA regular season match on Jan. 31, Tuesday at the Air Canada Centre.

New Orleans continued to be mercurial this season as the team has alternated winning and losing in their last six matches. The team has lost five times in their last eight games and is settled in the 10th spot in the Western Conference standings, tied with the Sacramento Kings and Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Pelicans were thrashed by the Washington Wizards, 107-94, in their most recent game last Sunday on their home floor of Smoothie King Center, as per NBC Sports.

Anthony Davis had another monster game with 36 points on 15-for-25 shooting, 17 rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks with Jrue Holiday backing him up with 26 points on 11-for-19 shooting, 11 assists, and four boards.

Off the bench, Donatas Motiejunas contributed 10 points, four rebounds, and two assists as the only other Pelican who scored in double digits.

Meanwhile, the Raptors are on a downward spiral at the moment with six losses in their last seven games. As a result, the team has dropped to third place in the Eastern Conference table. They are now one game behind new second-place squad Boston Celtics and also one game ahead of fourth-running team Atlanta Hawks.

Toronto is coming off a heartbreaking 114-113 loss to lowly squad Orlando Magic also at their home court of Air Canada Centre on Sunday night, the Toronto Star reported.

Kyle Lowry had 33 points, five rebounds, and eight assists while DeMar DeRozan came back from injury and contributed 22 points, seven boards, and six dimes in valiant efforts for head coach Dwane Casey.

Starting center Jonas Valanciunas added 12 points, nine rebounds, and three assists while frontcourt partner Patrick Patterson grabbed 10 boards and scored seven points.

Terrence Ross chipped in 17 points and had three steals to spearhead the second unit.

Prediction 

The Pelicans are 6-15 in away games this season while the Raptors are 16-9 at home. Toronto is predicted to pull off a bounce back win in this match versus New Orleans.
