A couple of huge developments have arrived in the past few days about the upcoming musical crossover of "The Flash" and "Supergirl." One of the major ones is that we now know who will be playing the villain set to bring mayhem on the two-parter.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "Glee" alum Darren Criss has landed the villainous role set to cause major headahes for Kara and Barry on "The Flash-Supergirl" musical, slated to air in March. The upcoming installment will also mark as a reunion project for Criss, Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin, who all showed their singing prowess on FOX's musical dramedy.

In the comics, the Music Meister is known for his powers in controlling people through songs. "How I Met Your Mother" actor Neil Patrick Harris brought the character to life in the animated series, "Batman: The Brave and the Bold." As of now, the producers are not spilling any details about the musical numbers set to unfold in the episode.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg did tease, however, that it will bear an impact on the succeeding storylines of both shows moving forward.

"When we get to the musical episodes, both Barry and Kara will find themselves at pivotal crossroads on their respective series, and the experience of going through the musical will have a great impact on both series moving forward," the showrunner said.

In addition to Criss' casting, the full list of actors set to sing on the episode were also revealed by TV Line  just last week. Gustin and Benoist will be joined by Jesse L. Martin, Victor Garber, Carlos Valdes, Jeremy Jordan and John Barrowman. The musical will kickoff on Supergirl's March 20th episode and will come into conclusion on The Flash's March 21st outing titled "Duet."

Dermott Downs is directing the latter, which will also feature non-singing guest appearances of "Supergirl" co-stars Chris Wood and David Harewood.
