With MTV's "Teen Wolf" returning for its sixth and final season, there remains a lot of speculation about what's to come for the Beacon Hills squad. For so long, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) has been leading the forefront against supernatural villains, but is it time to give the baton to a new Alpha? Showrunner Jeff Davis has the juicy "Teen Wolf" Season 6 spoilers.

In an interview with TVLine, Davis reveals that Scott is in fact grooming another character to take his place as the wolf pack's new Alpha, and it's none other than Liam Dumbar (Dylan Sprayberry). Liam, who was bitten and turned by Scott himself, is the sole werewolf in the pack, making him the potential successor for the top post.

"Part of the season is Scott trying to figure out, 'Can I leave Beacon Hills? Is it going to be safe without me?'" Davis reveals about the big question Scott has to face in "Teen Wolf" Season 6. He adds that this plot line will take place in the second half of the season.

Fans of the supernatural series would know that before Scott, Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin) was the Alpha. Following his departure, Scott assumed the role. The "big brother, little brother relationships" is one of the prominent elements of the show. With Scott graduating and possibly moving out of town for college, a changing of the guards is inevitable.

Tyler Posey himself confirms "Teen Wolf" Season 6 spoilers that Scott will be testing Liam this season to make sure he'll be ready to fill his shoes once he leaves. "If he is not ready, Scott can't leave. Because it is not just leaving your hometown, it is leaving the town you protect and keep alive," Posey exclusively tells Hollywood Life.

The question among "Teen Wolf" Season 6 spoilers is whether Liam would make a good pack leader. In earlier appearances, Liam was seen to be having anger issues and sometimes had episodes of rage. However, Liam showed remorse for his actions and felt bad about hurting his friends and family.

While Liam may not have the same kind of patience Scott has, it's an issue that can be remedied. With Scott's guidance, fans are hopeful that he can prepare Liam for his future as the new Alpha.

"Teen Wolf" Season 6 airs every Tuesday on MTV.
