"Supergirl" season 2 swung back into action in its new home, The CW, on Monday. The series also introduced Supergirl's cousin, Superman (the character Tyler Hoechlin plays) on its second season's first episode.

According to the show's executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, a mini Kryptonian family reunion is perfect for "Supergirl" season 2 as its first season has already established Kara's character.  A lot of "Supergirl" fans got excited when it was revealed that the show will introduce some new characters as it kicks off to its new season. One of the biggest news is the appearance of the Man of Steel.

However, the premiere of "Supergirl" season 2 only showed a number of changes. And the series kind of felt like there was no changes to look forward to at all, as per TV Line. The show gives off the same feeling as its first season but with added number of distinct changes.

Even so, both Melissa Benoist and Hoechlin still did not fail to give justice on their characters. And as the "Teen Wolf" alum suits up to his Superman costume, the actor immediately nails his role even from his first scene.

In other news, aside from Superman's addition, fans should also watch out for a few big changes in the sophomore season of "Supergirl". One of which is a longer season compared to the first, as per Cinema Blend. The series received a 22-episode order; hence, fans can anticipate more adventures for Kara.

Another thing that fans should look out for is that this season will have more crossovers than before -especially now that some series on The CW (like "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow") will be taking on a new timeline. Plus, since they moved their shooting location to Vancouver, it would be easier for them to reach out on other shows.

"Supergirl" season 2 airs on Mondays at 8|7c on The CW. The network will also be re-airing season 2's pilot episode on Friday, October 14, at 8 p.m.
