"Halo Halo House" is a new TV series that was made possible through the partnership between Philippines' local network PTV4 and Japanese company Nippon Television Network Co., Ltd.

The series follows the life of a Filipino man named Jose who traveled to Japan in search of his childhood friend Erica. The two friends met in Manila, Philippines, and the former wants to reunite with the latter.

Upon arriving in Japan, Jose doesn't have any clue as to where he could find his friend. After all, he traveled to the Land of the Rising Sun with only his passport, a handkerchief and the name and hometown of his friend.

Meanwhile, Jose will end up in a shared house run by Haru, and that's where his halo halo adventures will commence, according to The Philippine Daily Inquirer.

The new TV series is currently airing on the local network every Saturday and Sunday between 5 and 5:30 p.m. The show will only air until Feb. 7.

In other news, Ichinomiya City Mayor Masayasu Nakano will also have a cameo appearance in one episode.

Week in and week out, Philippine Tourism Goodwill Ambassador Sayaka Akimoto will also introduce and discuss the different Japanese traditions, cultures, customs and food that are included in the episodes.

Meanwhile, the synopsis for "Halo Halo House" was recently released by The Fan Boy Seo.

"Jose can't seem to forget a certain Japanese girl whom he met as a kid in Manila. With nothing but three leads on how to find her, he winds up in Japan. All he knows is that she's from Aichi Prefecture and her name is Erika. The third lead is a handkerchief that brought their destinies together. With barely any money in Japan and at a loss on what to do, Jose has a chance encounter with a Japanese man who introduces him to share a house in Ichinomiya, where he ends up living," the synopsis read.

Halo halo is derived from the famous Filipino dessert that combines several different dessert ingredients. As the show's title suggests, "Halo Halo House" will give audiences a wide range of varied experiences from the points of view of Jose and Erica.
