After being out of Instagram for a couple of years, Park Bom is finally back with her newest account.

On October 16, Park announced her return on Instagram through a Twitter post, Soompi noted. The 2NE1 member posted a photo of herself inside a makeup store on her newest account under the name @newharoobompark and wrote, "I decided to start again on Instagram. I miss our fans."

Park's newest Instagram account now has over 187 thousand followers a day after it was created. 2NE1 member Sandara Park even replied to her co-member reminded her not to forget the password for her new Instagram account.

On the other hand, Park's old Instagram account under the name @haroobommi has been unattended even before her scandal surfaced in 2014. A previous report of Allkpop revealed Park was accused of allegedly trying to smuggle drugs inside Korea from the United States.

The 2NE1 member allegedly tried to smuggle 82 pills of amphetamines through FedEx. Although the drug can be used for medical purposes in other places, some countries, like Korea, do not allow the use of amphetamines.

After investigations, the case against Park was immediately suspended, raising a lot of speculations that the case was dropped allegedly due to her celebrity status. A prosecutor even said he does not understand why Park's case was immediately suspended.

"Even if it is their first time, amphetamine smugglers are held and investigated by rule, and I cannot understand what the logic behind not even booking her case was. There are cases where drug criminals are first booked and then the cases are suspended, but I've never heard of a case where it wasn't even registered," he said.

Meanwhile, Yang Hyun Suk defended Park and said the drug was prescribed to the 2NE1 when she was still in the US. However, the idol hoped to receive the medication through her mother and grandmother since she can't go to the US to get them herself.

Yang added Park's records from the US hospital were submitted upon the investigation, which led to the suspension of the case.
