Kris Wu joins Drake and Steve Nash for the 2016 NBA All-star celebrity game

Kris Wu, former member of the popular Korean boy group EXO, is set to play at the 2016 NBA All-Star Celebrity game in Vancouver, Canada. Also known as Wu Yi Fan in China, his upcoming participation in the star-studded match just proved how good he is at the sport.

On Jan. 14, via press release, the National Basketball Association (NBA) announced that the All-Star Celebrity match this year is taking place on Feb. 12 at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto. For the 12th time, ESPN will air the match live for worldwide viewing.

Team USA will feature Michael B. Jordan of "Creed," Bryshere "Yazz" Gray of FOX's "Empire," Jason Sudeikis of "Race," Anthony Anderson of ABC's "Blackish," NBA legend Muggsy Bogues, NBA All-Star and ESPN analyst Chauncey Billups, Elena Delle Donne of women's NBA team Chicago Sky, Marc Lasry of Milwaukee Bucks and "America's Got Talent" HOST Nick Cannon.

The Team Canada versus Team USA bout is one for the books as the line-up of players is impressive. First off, Grammy awardee Drake, along with retired NBA player Steve Nash, are set to coach the Canadians while actor and NBA All-Star Celebrity Game MVP Kevin Hart will lead the Americans.

Toronto Blue Jays' right fielder José Bautista is also joining Drake and Nash on the sidelines. Team Canada's players include Drew and Jonathan Scott of HGTV's "Property Brothers," Stephan James of "Race," Pro tennis player Milos Raonic, NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady, Natalie Achonwa of women's NBA team Indiana Fever, NBA analyst Rick Fox and Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire's Will Butler.

Joining Drake and Nash in Team Canada, Wu is of Chinese descent and he grew up in Vancouver, Canada. He rose to fame after debuting with Korean boy group EXO, under the management of SM Entertainment. In 2014, he abruptly withdrew from his team and this led to legal battles with the Korean agency.

Before becoming a KPOP idol, he played basketball in China and Canada. In 2005, he served as the captain of Guangzhou No. 7 Middle School's basketball team and they won first place in Junior NBA tournament- South China region.

Meanwhile, Wu is busy with activities in China where he is currently based. He also recently participated in London's Burberry Fashion show. According to Vogue, his appearance on the runway was praised by famous fashion personalities and even called him the "member who took the runway by storm."
