Former Victoria's Secret model Tyra Banks to teach as guest lecturer of MBA class at Stanford

Supermodel Tyra Banks will be a guest lecturer at Stanford University for a Master of Business Administration class. She will teach for two weeks come May 2017.

Teaching at Stanford University will be Banks debut as a guest lecturer. She will be teaching some 25 MBA graduate students from handling press exposure being a business leader to tips in personal branding. Her initial task for the class has a title of "Project You: Building and Extending your Personal Brand." This official course description asks the students to make a short video acquainting themselves and how they cite a brand, according to Market Watch.

The 42-year-old former host of "America's Next Top Model" mentioned that she will teach in a way that is enticing and jive, however, it will be sound. She stated that her aim while discussing to audiences of college age, is to keep them from using their phones except it's about to "tweet" something that she had said.

"If I see somebody not paying attention, I'm gonna call on them."

Banks will be co-teaching with Professor Allison Kluger where she finished a nine-week management course at Harvard Business School in 2012. She met Kluger at Stanford where the latter produced "The View" and taught at Stanford's business school in the last two years regarding strategic communications and reputation management, as reported by Mail Online.

"I was mesmerized," said Ms. Kluger, who teaches courses in leadership and communication. "She's a natural." Ms. Kluger and Ms. Banks will spend the next few months planning the details of the course, which will be available for registration on a first-come, first-served basis.

Banks whose real name is Tyra Lynne Banks is a supermodel and the first African American who posed for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and GQ magazines. She founded her company "Tyra Beauty" in 2014 after completing a non-degree certificate course. The beauty company makes use of multi-level marketing system in recruiting sales distributors whom they call "beautytrainers."

Brand building is something that Banks has mastered throughout her multiple careers. Aside from modeling and hosting her own talk show on TV, she is also an actress and a movie producer. Banks also runs a line of cosmetics under her name.
