KPop group BTS’ official fan club “BTS Army” vowed to protect band member Jimin after receiving alarming threats on Twitter lately.

According to the fans, the 21-year-old star should not feel threatened about the tweets as the accounts who have been posting the malicious comments are all trolls. However, while some advised Jimin to stay calm, there are fans who cannot help but express their rage to the anti-fans who wants to murder their idol. Because of the incident, the term “#ArmysWillProtectJimin" claimed the top spot on Twitter’s worldwide trend, All KPop reported.

“Most threats like these aren't true, but you definitely have to treat them like they are in case it really is one day... People like this are "trolling" but they're seriously not funny. Threatening to kill anyone, famous or not, is horrible,” one fan commented.

As a response to the threats, BTS’ label agency Big Hit Entertainment released their official statement on March 27 with a promise that they will be taking actions to protect their talent. According to the agency as quoted by Soompi: “ We believe that it is a joke by an anti-fan, but we are taking measures just to be sure. We are working with the local staff and police to enhance the security.”

Meanwhile, Honda Center where BTS is set to hold a concert on April 1 and April 1 also confirmed that they are aware of the controversial social media posts. The indoor arena further stated that they will be increasing the security measures in the area to assure everyone’s safety.

Jimin made his entertainment debut in the entertainment industry in 2013 after joining BTS (also known as Bangtan Boys) alongside Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Rap Monster, V, and Jungkook. The group is known for "No More Dream", "Blood Sweat & Tears", and many more.
