Hallyu star Choi Tae Joon opened up about his shady character in the recently finished TV drama series “Missing 9” in an interview.

The 25-year-old actor pointed out that he wanted the audience to see where his character Choi Tae Ho is coming from behind all his murder schemes. He had likewise admitted that the ending of the drama has not sunk into him yet as he and the whole cast have developed a good relationship together.

“...Although it was a miniseries, the filming was actually very long. We filmed on Jeju Island and stayed in a dorm together with the other actors, and so we made a lot of great memories together. It was tough work, but I miss it now that it’s over,” Soompi quoted Choi as saying.

He added: “My character did a lot of murdering, but he didn’t murder them for the same reasons. So I wanted to make sure it was different each time. Of course, murder can’t be justified for any reason. But I wanted to make it so that when the viewers saw my character, they wouldn’t see him as someone they simply hate. I wanted to them to see that he was hurt, and that he could be sympathized with. While Taeho is strong and combative, I thought of him as pitiful and weak as I acted.”

Aside from sharing his thoughts about his portrayed character in the series, Choi also revealed that the murder scene with EXO’s Chanyeol has been difficult for him as the KPop idol is tall and “a well-built young man” and he is suffering physically due to a cracked rib as well. However, he expressed his gladness that they are able to finish the scene well.

Choi has recently appeared in the March 26 installment of the variety show “Running Man” on its special segment titled “Running Man and Six Princesses”. Joining him in the guesting are Jun So Min, Lee Se Young, Kang Han Na, Park Jin Ju, and GFRIEND’s Umji, Soompi reported.
